Our underwater housing setups typically fall into two categories: Manual Control or Tethered Control.
Manual Control:
The operator uses the physical buttons and mechanical interfaces built directly into the housing to control the camera. This provides a simple, reliable, self-contained workflow ideal for surf work, remote locations, or low-infrastructure setups.Tethered Control:
Camera settings and triggers are operated remotely via underwater cables, allowing full camera control from the surface. This is commonly used on larger productions requiring precise monitoring, playback, or integration with video village and surface teams.

Any lens up to 120mm and ~180mm in length can usually fit for Motor Controlled Lens configuration.
These lens combos are usually designed to run with Motor Control via underwater cabling for larger scale productions, please get in touch for our Manual Lens control options with our Manual Focus Ports if required.

FX3 Housing
This compact housing is an absolute weapon – perfect for surf shoots, budget-conscious productions, and low-infrastructure setups. If you need fast underwater inserts for a TV show or commercial, the FX3 delivers impressive image quality in a small, affordable package.
Lightweight and highly portable, this kit removes all the hassle that comes with larger underwater systems. Just seal it and rip it.
We can also provide SDI out for surface monitoring, making it a seamless match for productions shooting on Sony Venice or other Sony systems that only require simple pool work without the need for full-scale underwater rigs.

The Nikon ZR runs Salty Surf’s SIREN port line, giving you a fully stackable and customisable port system designed to accommodate a wide range of lenses.
We carry the 14–24mm Nikkor Z for the fastest underwater autofocus performance, along with multiple port configurations offering focus and iris control across a variety of lenses.
This system adapts to your project -fast, modular, and ready for a broad range of lenses underwater.

PORTKEYS BWR III 5" Underwater Monitor
This compact, rugged monitor housing is typically mounted on top of our larger underwater systems, providing a clear and reliable viewing solution beneath the surface.
Designed to improve operator visibility and comfort, it’s especially useful when shooting upward-facing angles or working in challenging, awkward positions. The added monitor support ensures smoother, more informed operating while maintaining the flexibility needed for dynamic underwater cinematography.
Underwater Subnado Scooters
Our Subnado units are a specialty tool we use to enhance our underwater mobility. Much like how a Segway boosts agility on land, Subnados give us increased speed and maneuverability beneath the surface.
They allow us to track subjects at high speeds, keep pace with swimmers, and maximise coverage during diving sessions. Subnados are also invaluable in strong-current environments, helping operators maintain stability and position while capturing dynamic underwater shots.
ETH Control System
Many of our housings feature a dedicated Ethernet Port System that enables full camera control from the surface via an iPad interface. By feeding control data through our underwater cabling into the surface network, we can distribute these controls to a wireless iPad or similar device for operation.
This setup allows camera teams to adjust settings, trigger recording, and monitor key functions in real time—making it ideal for productions that require precise control, surface monitoring, or complex underwater setups.
